Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail, which brings together running enthusiasts from all walks of life and of all ages to offer athletes an unforgettable racing experience, was held in Kemerburgaz City Forest on 8-10 September 2023. VAULT took part in the brand sponsorship of the event, which brought together nature, sports and entertainment in the heart of the city with the enthusiasm of ultra trail (trail running) and was experienced as a comprehensive sports festival.

In the Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail 2023, which is included in the 2023 calendars of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Turkish Athletics Federation and of which Merrell Turkey is the name sponsor, runners will compete in the Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail (60 km), Merrell Belgrade Medium Trail (30 km), Merrell They chose from 4 different race options: Belgrade Short Trail (15 km) and Merrell Belgrade Fun & Run (5 K). In the organization that hosted athletes not only from Turkey but also from many different countries, the athlete who completed the longest distance 60K course was Mestan Turhan.

A running event with a festive taste

Aiming o combine nature, sports and entertainment, Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail 2023 brought participants many sports activities such as bootcamp, crossfit, Survivor track, cycling tour, as well as yoga, zumba, pilates. Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail 2023, which also featured enthusiastic entertainment with DJ performances and concerts, also made a difference with its scope, check points and expo area.

The famous athlete also competed

Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail, which received 1700 applications, also witnessed the participation of international athletes and record attempts. Spanish Merrell athlete Roger Comellas, who has attracted attention with his significant results in the prominent races of the trail running world since 2021 and most recently came first in the Merrell Mountain Festival race held in Andorra, pushed his limits in the Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail 30K track and came in second.

Saplings were donated for athletes

Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail was also implemented with the aim of drawing attention to the protection of the Northern Forests. In order to draw attention to the protection of forests, the heart of nature, after the fire disasters in our country, a total of 3,000 saplings, two saplings for each Merrell Belgrad Ultra Trail runner, were donated to the Hope Forest in Sivas Çevrecik Afforestation Area through TEMA Foundation.

Corporate teams pushed their limits

Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail also offered content full of entertainment, competition and sports for the employees of the company. Institutions participated in the Team Race race on the 5K track with teams of 10 people each. Among the teams that had the opportunity to both represent their institutions and strengthen the solidarity and in-house communication between the teams, the top three teams were Yapı Kredi, sahibinden.com and İETT running teams, respectively.

The richest racing kit and the highest prizes

Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail participants prepared for the run with a rich race kit that will include basic needs such as buffs, socks and food, as well as gift certificates in many categories such as food, equipment, textiles and social platforms. At the same time, the winners of the Merrell Belgrade Ultra Trail, which broke new ground in trail running with the general classification podium awards, received awards worth 350,000 TL in total.
